About Charlie
Charlie Baldwin has two decades of experience as a professional soft tissue therapist, beginning her career working with the human body and expanding her education into the equestrian world.
Her life long love of horses, riding and passion for bodywork bought about a change of direction for Charlie’s career in 2015 and the unique merging of equine and equestrian treatments was created. Acquiring a wide variety of qualifications and offering a unique service, combining her knowledge of equine/human anatomy with her experience and skill as a massage therapist.
She recognised how her specific skills and abilities to work with the body could also hugely benefit the ridden horse, as well as supporting the riders needs, whilst strengthening the understanding, dynamic and partnership between the two. There are many factors that can effect the natural musculoskeletal balance, nervous system and biomechanics of both our bodies, that can negatively influence our performance and comfort.
With an holistic approach to her work, she considers the integrated systems of the body and complete client health as a whole, taking into account physical, social, emotional and mental well-being of both horse and rider.
Some of Charlie’s accomplishments are listed below:
Level 3 Sports Therapy UK, under Tim Paine and other renowned sports science tutors.
Equine Rehabilitation and Sports Massage Therapy with Equissage Europe, under the amazing tuition of Hypnotherapist and chartered Physiotherapist Helen Woolley.
Sharron Wheeler Scar Work Therapy, the application of specialised techniques to help relieve discomfort, pain and restriction associated with the formation of scar tissue in the body.
Integrated Masters Method techniques, using meridian line stimulation and working with nervous system regulation.
Neuro muscular therapy/Trigger point therapy.
Myo-fascial release techniques.
Charlie attends CPD training on a regular basis, in both equine and ‘human’ therapies, to ensure that she is up-to-date with relevant evidence based research, new techniques and modalities within her scope of practice.
Charlie is a very professional, personable and thorough practitioner with a genuine passion for what she does. She has a patient, empathetic, calm manner around horses and an understanding, practical approach when helping strengthen horse and rider partnerships. Delivering a unique service that is an integral part of wellbeing for you and your horse.
